Bonnie Gombos, former Director of the Darien Arts Center Dance Program, has been teaching for over
35 years in Queens and Fairfield County. She has been at DAC for more than 26 years working with
students from ages three to adult; beginner to company, with a wide range of dance styles from classical
ballet, to jazz and modern. She has also worked at the Connecticut Ballet for many years as a teaching
artist; working with Kids in Crisis, Trailblazers and in Juvenile Detention Centers. Bonnie was a Dance
Theater major at Queens College, N.Y. and received most of her training from Hannah Kroner, Finis
Jhung and the New York School of Ballet, and has received a degree in Avionics from the College of
Aeronautics. Bonnie is currently a teaching artist at Orlando Ballet.

Jessie Pollock began her dance journey the age of 4 in Western Massachusetts. She was a competitive dancer for 13 years and trained in many genres including ballet, tap, jazz, acro and lyrical. Along with her formal education, she also took several classes and workshops from places such as

Jessie Pollock began her dance journey the age of 4 in Western Massachusetts. She was a competitive dancer for 13 years and trained in many genres including ballet, tap, jazz, acro and lyrical. Along with her formal education, she also took several classes and workshops from places such as Broadway Dance Center in New York. She took her many years of dance educations and paired it with her love, education and experience in working with children and began teaching dance. She is excited to be a part of the Powerhouse Dance Complex community as an instructor and looks forward to growing with this great team!

For over a decade, Jahad Shawe has been shaping the lives of children and adults through dance across the East Coast. Born and raised in NYC, Jahad has been dancing professionally since 2010 exemplifying talent, passion and creativity in every choreography and performance.

For over a decade, Jahad Shawe has been shaping the lives of children and adults through dance across the East Coast. Born and raised in NYC, Jahad has been dancing professionally since 2010 exemplifying talent, passion and creativity in every choreography and performance.
Starting his dance career at only 14, Jahad worked as a teacher at his local studio Pure Joy Performing Arts for over 10 years. After bringing dance groups and programs to his high school and winning multiple awards, Jahad continued on performing at the Mcdonald's Gospel Praise Dance Festival, So You Think You Can Dance and more. Jahad used dance as a creative outlet to release and evoke emotions with escape though dance and his love for teaching continues blooming everyday.
Through dance, Jahad hopes to inspire others to create their own escape through self-expression and perseverance in dance.
