Powerhouse Dance Complex Studio Policy

Dress Code

At Powerhouse Dance Complex, we believe that when dancers look the part, they perform with greater focus and confidence. All students are expected to arrive at the studio looking polished and performance-ready.

General Guidelines:

  • Hair must be neat and secured away from the face.

  • No jewelry is allowed in class, including necklaces, bracelets, and large hoop earrings, for safety reasons.

  • Dancers should arrive to class free of ink markings or visible drawings on the body (including hands, arms, and legs). This promotes a clean, professional appearance.

  • Powerhouse-branded leotards, t-shirts, shorts, and accessories are encouraged and permitted in class.

  • Non-affiliated studio apparel (other dance studio or school branding) is not allowed in the classroom.

  • Please refer to each class description for specific attire requirements.

Female Dancers:

  • Should wear proper dance attire as outlined in their class description.

  • Underwear should not be worn under leotards—treat dancewear like a swimsuit to ensure a clean, streamlined look.

Male Dancers:

  • Should wear solid-colored dance or cargo pants with a fitted t-shirt or tank.

  • Black jazz, tap, ballet shoes, and dance sneakers are appropriate and required when applicable.

Please Note: Dancers who do not follow the dress code will not be permitted to participate in class. Consistent adherence to this policy fosters discipline and professionalism in every dancer.

Biannual Plan (Every 5 Months):

  • Payments are due in two installments:

Showcase Costume Payments

At Powerhouse Dance Complex, our annual end-of-year Showcase is a special and exciting opportunity for dancers to demonstrate everything they’ve worked so hard to achieve throughout the season. It is a required event for all dancers, as it serves as the culmination of their training, dedication, and growth.

Costume Payments:

To ensure timely delivery of costumes, full payment is due by December 15th. For dancers enrolled in multiple classes, families are welcome to begin making deposits in October and November to make payments more manageable.

Costume Pricing:

  • Combo Classes: $150 per combo hour (includes multiple pieces)
  • Preschool Classes: $110

  • Leveled Classes: $95–$120 per class

Please note:

  • Costumes will not be ordered without full payment.

  • A late costume fee of $30 or more will apply to any orders placed after January 1st.

  • Once ordered, costumes are non-refundable.

Recital Withdrawal:

If your dancer is unable to participate in the Showcase, a Recital Withdrawal Form must be completed and returned to the front desk by November 15th.
Failure to submit this form by the deadline will result in full financial responsibility for costume and recital-related expenses.

We strongly encourage all dancers to participate—our Showcase is more than a performance; it's a celebration of their commitment, progress, and passion. It’s a moment where they shine, and we can’t wait to see them on stage!

Attendance/ Make up policy

Dance requires discipline, consistency, and commitment. Regular attendance is essential for each dancer’s progress and for the overall success and cohesiveness of the class.

General Expectations:

  • Dancers are expected to attend class each week.

  • Excessive absences not only affect individual growth but also impact choreography, timing, and team dynamics.

  • No refunds or credits will be issued for:

    • Missed classes due to illness, vacation, or holidays

    • Studio closures due to inclement weather

    • Low attendance days or personal scheduling conflicts

Make-Up Classes:

  • Make-up classes are available for absences due to illness or personal reasons.

  • All make-ups must:

    • Be completed within one (1) month of the missed class

    • Be taken in a class of the same discipline and at the same or lower level

    • Be registered in advance at the front desk

  • Missed classes may not be applied as credit toward unpaid or future tuition.

Weather & Low Enrollment:

  • Days are typically reserved to accommodate classes cancelled due to inclement weather.

  • Classes with fewer than 4 registered dancers may be canceled or merged with another class.

  • If only 1–2 students attend, the class will run for 30 minutes. There is no prorate or refund for shortened or merged classes.

We appreciate your partnership in helping your dancer maintain consistent attendance so they can thrive in class and on stage.

Drop Off/Pick Up

The safety of our dancers is our top priority. Please read and follow the guidelines below to ensure all students arrive and depart safely:

General Guidelines:

  • It is the parent or guardian’s responsibility to accompany dancers to and from the studio.

  • Powerhouse Dance Complex does not assume responsibility for students who:

    • Arrive early and remain unattended

    • Do not enter the building upon arrival

    • Leave the studio after class without a guardian present

  • Dancers should remain inside the studio until a parent or guardian arrives to pick them up.

  • Parents are asked to wait until class has begun before leaving and to be prompt when returning at the end of class.

Late Pick-Up Fee:

  • A $10 late fee will be charged for any dancer remaining at the studio more than 10 minutes after closing hours.

Transportation Changes:

  • Please notify the studio of any changes to your child’s transportation arrangements.

  • If someone other than the guardian listed on the registration form will be picking up your dancer, please inform a staff member in advance.

  • If a student has been given permission to arrive or depart independently, this must be indicated clearly on the registration form.

Thank you for helping us keep your dancer safe, secure, and accounted for at all times.

Add/Withdrawal

We understand that schedules and commitments may change during the year. To ensure accurate records and proper billing, all class changes or withdrawals must follow the procedure below:

Official Withdrawal Process:

  • All schedule changes, including class withdrawals, must be completed in person at the front desk using an official Add/Drop Form.

  • Verbal notice to instructors is not accepted as a valid form of withdrawal.

  • No schedule changes will be processed without a signed and dated form on file.

Withdrawal Deadlines & Financial Responsibility:

  • There is a two-month minimum commitment for all classes.

  • A one-month written notice (via Add/Drop Form) is required and must be submitted by the 7th of the month to take effect for the following month.

  • Withdrawals submitted after the 7th will apply to the next billing cycle.

  • No withdrawals will be accepted after January 1st. Any student enrolled after this date is financially responsible for tuition through June, regardless of attendance.

Thank you for helping us maintain consistent enrollment records and for your cooperation in following our studio policies.

Inclement Weather

The safety of our dancers and families is our top priority. In the event of inclement weather or emergency conditions:

  • All cancellations and studio closures will be posted on our studio website and through our official communication app.

  • Due to the number of counties our dancers come from, we do not follow any specific school district’s closure decisions.

  • Please refer to Powerhouse Dance Complex’s official announcements for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding class cancellations.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our community safe.
